‘Craftsmen at work’

It is not often that you have the opportunity of watching craftsmen at work but that has been our experience.

For us attention to detail is a key factor, and to discover that this is equally important to the Total Flooring workforce, because they take pride in their work, was a bonus.

The lobby, which is small with unparallel walls, has been transformed from a cold and uninspired space into a warm and welcoming entrance by the addition of a Karndean floor. The design was not straightforward, as we requested that the pattern in the glass to the front door and the border of another door be incorporated. This was achieved with flair and artistry, not to mention care and patience.

Another example is how the carpet in the hall, with recess, and dining room was laid in one piece, which has made the carpet even more pleasing to the eye.

We notice that Total Flooring mention on their website that they travel far and wide but we would add that their staff are also prepared to go the extra mile in an endeavour to meet their customer needs.

Our very unusual request was to create a Maori symbol within our Hallway floor. As previous customers of Total Flooring and their installation expertise, we were confident that Shaun could fulfill this request.

After visiting their Alnwick store and Karndean Design Studio we were offered an excellent choice of flooring and advice.

Shaun was incredibly enthusiastic about the idea and presented us previous bespoke designs he had installed. He was very passionate about creating something totally unique which inspired us to create our bespoke design floor.

The symbol had quite intricate details within its design, surrounded by the main body of the floor, which was laid in a traditional herringbone style. A contrasting tramline border was advised to follow the contours of the room, creating that total bespoke look.

The whole installation was completed by Shaun within two days and resulted in a superb and totally unique floor. True family values captured within a luxury design floor.

‘A big thank you for a fantaic experience’

Total flooring was recommended to us by a couple we knew and who had Karndean flooring fitted to their cottage. We viewed the job they’d had done and they told us that they were delighted by, not only the job itself, but by the dedication of the staff at Total Flooring and not least the customer service. We thought that the standard of their installation was superb. We decided, as a result, to have Karndean fitted by them, to the entire ground floor of our house.

We dealt mainly with Shaun who came and advised us and was extremely attentive and reassuring leading up to the date of the fitting. We formed the opinion that he was absolutely passionate regarding the work that he does and this gave us the feeling that we were dealing with the right company for our job.

Shaun completed the job in two days and never stopped (literally) for the whole time. Indeed on the second day he put in a shift of fourteen hours. I made him three cups of tea, but he only drank one as he was so busy. Come nine o’clock in the evening I virtually had to force him to go home. He checked his work at least four times to make sure it was perfect (which it was), before finally heading home, but not before talking me through the care kit and insisting that he was just a call away, if we were unsure about anything at all.

I must say that the ground floor of our home has been transformed and we are absolutely delighted with every aspect of our new Karndean flooring. We would thoroughly recommend Total Flooring to anyone who would like professionalism, excellent customer care, friendly service and total reassurance from a company well worth their good name.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention that Shaun phoned two days after completion, to check that the floor is settling ok, which it was and to say that he’ll call by in a few days to check it himself.
