Carpets of Kidderminster

Carpets of Kidderminster was founded in 1934 by the late Lionel Rowe, a well-known and respected member of the local carpet fraternity.

The company started with the production of high quality axminster carpet and was initially situated in Green Street in Kidderminster. As demand grew for axmister carpet, so the company began to expand. With increased demands for production the need

for extra space and machinery became very apparent; a new purpose built facility was created at Wilden lane, Stourport on Severn where their investment in machinery and logistics could be utilised to its full. With a combination of spool, electronic jacquards, tufting machines and narrow looms, Carpets of Kidderminster could cater for all requirements due to their diverse range of widths available, (0.69m, 0.91m, 1.37m, 2.00m, 2.50m, 2.74m, 3.66m, 4.00m and 4.11m).

With the ever growing demands in the contract and retail sectors, Carpets of Kidderminster’s investment in the development of new technologies and systems has helped position them as one of the major forces in the axminster carpet manufacturing industry.

Today, Carpets of Kidderminster employs over 170 people and the company is continuing to grow, with their production facility working 24 hours a day every day the future looks good.
